What is LOBSTR signer extension?
LOBSTR signer extension is a browser extension designed to allow LOBSTR users to securely connect to other services built on the Stellar network using their wallets. The extension sends all transactions from a connected web service to your LOBSTR mobile app for signature. Once you receive a push notification with a transaction request on your LOBSTR app, you can review the full transaction details and decide whether to confirm or reject the transaction.
LOBSTR signer extension transmits transactions between the LOBSTR app and third-party services using an encrypted connection. Your private key is stored fully encrypted on your mobile device and is never exposed to the connected service, ensuring maximum security.
How to connect your Stellar wallet from the LOBSTR app to the signer extension?
We will now take you through the steps to connect your Stellar wallet from the LOBSTR wallet app to the LOBSTR signer extension.

Once you have the LOBSTR mobile app, you will need to either sign up or log in to your LOBSTR account. If you’re a new user to LOBSTR you can create a new Stellar Wallet or connect one you already use to your account.
3. Scan the QR code provided by the signer extension using the QR Code Scanner in the LOBSTR mobile app.
On the 'Home' screen of the LOBSTR mobile app, tap the 'Universal QR Code Scanner' button in the top right corner. Then scan the QR code provided by the browser extension.
4. Confirm or reject the connection in the LOBSTR app.
Once you successfully scan the QR code in the LOBSTR app, you will receive a Connection request from the signer extension.
If you tap the 'Connect' button, you will allow the LOBSTR signer extension to view the public key of your currently active wallet and request transaction approvals from the web services you are logging in using the LOBSTR wallet log in option. However, if you choose to tap 'Reject', the browser extension will not be able to access your wallet's public key.
5. You have now connected your Stellar wallet from the LOBSTR app to the signer extension.
From here, you can use the connected wallet to log in to any dApps and services built on the Stellar network that supports the 'LOBSTR wallet' log in method.
Every time you perform an action with your wallet, such as initiating a payment or creating an offer, you will be sent a push notification to the device from which the connection was established and you will be prompted to sign the transaction request in the LOBSTR app. This ensures that your private key remains secure within the LOBSTR app and doesn't need to be shared with any other service.
Management of connected wallets
The LOBSTR signer extension allows you to connect and manage multiple wallets from the LOBSTR app. Click the 'Add Wallet' button on the 'Connect wallets' screen and follow steps 3-4 if you want to connect another wallet and use it to log into different web services. For example, you can access both StellarX and StellarTerm using the same or different connected wallets.
Once you connect your wallet to the extension, it will remain there until you delete it. To remove the connection between your mobile app and browser extension, you have multiple options. You can directly remove the connection from the extension, log out of the app, or remove the wallet from the app.
