WalletConnect: How to log back in using an older WalletConnect connection

If you have used WalletConnect before to log in to StellarTerm, you can re-establish your older connection without the need to scan a new QR code to log in.

StellarTerm saves the details of your last connection in the browser and will display it when you next try to log in with WalletConnect.

When your log in with WalletConnect the next time, just select one of your old connections in the list. StellarTerm will send a connection request to the mobile app on the device you used to log in previously. 

How to Log in Using an Older Connection?

For this example, we will take you through the steps to use the WalletConnect Log In option with an older connection previously established using LOBSTR app.

Here are the few steps needed to re-establish your connection and log in:

1. Open the LOBSTR app on your mobile device and Navigate to the ≡ icon in the top left corner, click Settings, then choose WalletConnect from the menu.

2. Go to the Log In page of StellarTerm here and select the WalletConnect Log In option.

3. Once you’ve read and accepted the Terms of Use, select Log in with WalletConnect.

4. If you used this browser to log in with WalletConnect before, you will now be able to select one of your older connections to re-connect.

Review the list of your older connections and select the one that matches the device and account you are using with LOBSTR app at step 1.

For example, if you are using LOBSTR on Android device with and Stellar wallet with GCO6...V5EV public key, make sure to select the connection for that same device and account.

And If you would like to start a new connection via QR code, simply press the New Connection button to repeat the connection process.

5. Confirm the connection in LOBSTR app

You will now see a Cancel/Confirm notification on the LOBSTR app. If you press Cancel the connection will be canceled. If you press Confirm then StellarTerm will re-establish your old connection and log you in with your Stellar wallet from LOBSTR.

You are now logged back in with your Stellar wallet from the LOBSTR app.

You can use this feature to safely log in to StellarTerm, without the extra steps of having to create a new QR code and scanning it.
