When using StellarTerm you may notice the Smart Swap toggles within your transaction details. Smart Swap allows users to exchange assets at a better price. It enables programmatic optimization when possible so that your swap will find the best routes and rates.
Smart Swap applies if:
- The amount of selling is greater than or equal to $100 when converted to the alternative currency;
- The price impact value is less than or equal to minus -0.5% (it's an unfavorable swap).
How it works:
When you hit the amount that is suitable for swap on the 'Swap' page, it divides into two parts relative to the asset you're going to buy.
- The percentage of the amount that will be swapped;
- The percentage of the amount that will contain StellarTerm fee;
The Smart Swap option will search for the most profitable conversion path of the first (main) part of the amount, breaking it down into several parts.
When performing a Smart Swap, you will see an estimated profit amount in comparison with a regular swap and the exchange path.
An additional Smart Swap fee will be included in the final amount. This fee will be 30% of the profit compared to a regular swap.
Note: The additional Smart Swap fee mentioned above will be deducted from profit only and won't be shown to you on the final screen.
If the user's profit from the Smart Swap is evaluated as zero, a regular swap will be executed.
